Teaching

Christianity is based on God’s revelation of Himself through Scripture. Unlike most religions, which are based on subjective experience alone, Christians are entirely dependent on truth from God.

This means that passion is not enough—our faith must be based upon true and accurate knowledge (Romans 10:2). All teaching must be grounded in and faithful to the Bible.

Therefore, at Church of the Good Shepherd, a teacher must strive to:

• Correctly interpret Scripture
• Clearly explain its content
• Effectively assist listeners to apply its truth to their lives
